Spider-Man: Brand New Day has stormed into cinemas with an astounding opening weekend, grossing an estimated $927 million worldwide in just its first four days. This latest Marvel blockbuster, starring Tom Holland, now ranks as the second-highest global opening in cinematic history, surpassed only by Avengers: Endgame, which launched with $1.2 billion in 2019.
In the North American market, the film brought in $355 million over its opening weekend, coming close to the domestic record of $357.1 million set by Avengers: Endgame. On the international front, the superhero film amassed $572 million across 66 markets, with China leading the international earnings at $121 million. The United Kingdom followed with $49 million, Mexico with $38.3 million, and South Korea with $25 million.
This latest Spider-Man installment shattered opening weekend records in several countries. In India, the film achieved the biggest Hollywood opening ever with $31.8 million. France contributed $26.6 million, Brazil added $23.8 million, and Spain generated $15.6 million. The movie’s debut has significantly outperformed previous Marvel hits like Spider-Man: No Way Home, which had a $600 million global opening, and Avengers: Infinity War, which debuted with $640 million worldwide.
